Anikishipping- A Day at the Beach
It had been one year since Syrus Truesdale had left the Cyber Art Pro League to travel around the world with his best friend, companion, and also his lover, Jaden Yuki. Now, they have booked a villa and were spending time together at the beach: soaking up in the sun, drinking cold smoothies, and swimming in the salty seawater while they splash each other. Hours later, the sun was setting as the sky was colored orange with pure red over it. While Pharaoh was taking his cat nap on a nearby rock, the two boys were packing up their beach stuff, just when Jaden placed his hand over his head and realized that something was missing. “Jaden, what’s wrong?” Syrus noticed.“My sun hat,” Jaden started with a slight frown. “It’s gone. It must’ve fallen off when we were in the water. I’d better go find it and I’ll meet you and Pharaoh in the villa when I come back.” He left out the part where Banner and Yubel were with them also. But before Jaden could go and find his hat, Syrus grabbed him by the arm and Jaden looked down at him with surprise. “No Jay. You stay here with Pharaoh and bring everything to the villa. I’ll go find your hat.”Before Jaden could protest, Syrus had already dashed right away to find his hat. Jaden rolled his eyes and chuckled to himself. “That Syrus. He’ll do anything for me.”Right around the corner of the beach, Syrus climbed up to the rocks to get better ground— or in this case, better water— as he scanned the area for Jaden’s hat. He then stopped to see something floating on the water as Syrus’s eyes widened. “There it is! Jaden’s hat!” He exclaimed with a smile. “Now to get it and bring it back to him!” He carefully climbed down the rocks and grabbed Jaden’s sun hat.Suddenly, the water rose up to Syrus’a ankles and then up to his knees. Looking down, Syrus gasped in surprise and horror when he realized that high tide was about to begin! “Oh no! High tide!” He cried, gripping Jaden’s hat tightly as he jumped onto a nearby rock. “I’ve gotta get out of here!” But before he could escape, Syrus heard a loud sound and looked up to see a big wave coming and then crashing down at him, engulfing Syrus into the deep sea and making the chain of his crystal and wisteria necklace break off his neck!Meanwhile, Jaden was waiting for Syrus after taking everything to the villa. Pharaoh only stayed behind at the villa to resume sleeping, though. “Hmm. Where’s Syrus? It shouldn’t take him this long to come back with my hat.” He was starting to worry when a little glowing orb floated beside him and Professor Banner’s spirit appeared. “Jaden, what’s wrong?” he asked, noticing Jaden’s expression. “You seem worried about something.”Jaden looked up at Banner with a slight frown. “It’s Syrus, Banner. He went out to find my hat, but it’s been too long now.” he explained. “I just hope nothing bad happened to him.” Yubel appeared on Jaden’s right side, her arms crossed over her chest. “Don’t be too worried, Jaden. I’m sure Syrus is fine. He’s probably found your hat by now but got distracted by something not important.” she assured Jaden, but he couldn’t help but feel that something was wrong. Finally, Jaden shook his head in disbelief.“No! Something’s up!” he confirmed. “I’m gonna go find him and make sure he’s safe!” Before Yubel and Professor Banner could stop Jaden, he sprinted off in search of his friend. As Jaden was on the other side of the beach, he stopped and looked around for Syrus. “Syrus!” he called with his hands cupped over his mouth. “Syrus! Syrus! Where are you, pal? Answer me!” Just then, Jaden looked down to see something shiny and he picked it up to indicate it. It was Syrus’s necklace! That means that Syrus isn’t far from here! But where was he? He frantically looked around.Suddenly, Jaden caught the sound of splashing water as he turned to see someone trying to stay above the surface but was sinking fast!“JADEN!!!” Syrus screamed, flailing his arms wildly, making big splashes while holding onto Jaden’s sun hat. “Help me! I can’t swim!” Soon, the tide was swallowing Syrus up until all that was left was his hand with Jaden’s sun hat before they both disappeared into the water, much to Jaden’s surprised horror. He quickly removed his summer shirt and jacket, and ran over to the water. “Syrus, hold on! I’m coming!” Jaden shouted as he sharply inhaled some air and dove into the deep sea with a loud splash. As he was in deep water, Jaden looked around for Syrus. It didn’t take him too long to see the familiar little duelist struggling to swim back up to the surface, but he was too weak to do it because he felt a cramp in his leg and now he was sinking.Jaden’s eyes widened as he began to swim towards Syrus. Hang on, Sy! I’m coming for ya! He thought with determination as he reached Syrus (who opened his eyes for a bit to see his hero come to his rescue before he closed his eyes and blacked out) and grabbed him, but then an ocean current appeared out of nowhere and it separated them both! Syrus! But Jaden wasn’t going to give up as he tried again and swam over to Syrus again, this time he didn’t let him go and he swam up to the surface and back to shore with Syrus’ steady body still under his arm. After Jaden took Syrus to safety, they were soaking wet in saltwater as he gently laid him on the sandy shore ground. “Syrus! Syrus! Wake up, man!” Jaden exclaimed, shaking Syrus’s lifeless body just when Professor Banner and Yubel appeared before them. Professor Banner gasped. “Syrus! Oh no, he’s unconscious!” he exclaimed and Yubel glanced worriedly at Jaden. “Jaden, is he okay?” she asked.Jaden bent down and listened to Syrus’ slight breathing, then gasped. “No! He’s not breathing well! Hang on!” he exclaimed and soon started pressing down on Syrus’s chest. “Come on Sy! Stay with me!” After a few more presses, Syrus was starting to breathe well, but not enough as Jaden gritted his teeth. “This is all my fault! I never should’ve let him go by himself to get my sun hat and just went with him to find it!” he balled up his hand into a fist and pounded at the sand in frustration. Yubel kneeled next to Jaden and placed her hand on his shoulder to comfort him. “Don’t worry, Jaden.” she reassured him with a meaningful smile. “There’s still time for you to save your friend.” Jaden felt much better as he looked back down at Syrus, whose chest was slowly coming up and back down from breathing. “You’re right, Yubel. I have to act fast.” Jaden replied with a small smile and looked back down at Syrus. “Guess there’s only one thing to do.” He placed his fingers underneath Syrus’ chin and pinched his nose as Professor Banner and Yubel disappeared, knowing what Jaden was about to do.After the two spirits left the two alone, Jaden brought his lips down at Syrus’s lips and brought his own oxygen into his lungs. Sometime later, Syrus came to a wake and started coughing out water before bringing in a quick breath of fresh air. “Syrus!” cried out Jaden in relief.“Jaden!” he exhaled and his eyes popped out as he looked to see Jaden drenched and above him. His expression softened into relief and he let out a relieved sigh. “Am I glad to see you. What happened?” he asked. Jaden explained the whole ordeal and finished by holding out the necklace to Syrus. “Here. You dropped this while you were out saving my hat.” he offered as Syrus took the necklace. “Thanks Jaden.” he replied back with a smile. “I didn’t know it came off.” But just when Syrus was about to put his necklace back on, his face fell. “Ah man. The chain broke.” he groaned, letting his shoulders slump in depression when Jaden assured him. “Don’t worry Sy, I’ll fix it for you when we get back to the villa. Okay?”That brought the smile back on Syrus’ face as he nodded. “Okay Jay.” he said, getting up but felt a pain hit him hard when he struggled to get up. “Ow!” he grunted, rubbing at his legs. “My legs still hurt. I don’t think I might be able to walk.” Suddenly, Syrus sneezed and he began to shiver. “And now I’m cold.” Jaden took off his jacket and wrapped it around Syrus to warm him up. “Don’t worry. I think I can carry you there, sounds good?” He asked, picking up Syrus and carrying him in a bridal style as the little blue duelist blushed deeply, but managed to respond “Yeah. I guess I don’t mind you carrying me back to the villa.” Then he looked around in an awkward expression. “But what if someone sees us? I don't want anyone to think that…” Syrus trailed off and then resumed “you know. Think that we might be dating.” But Jaden didn’t seem to care. “It’s alright Sy. I don’t think anyone will see us, because they’ve gone home.” He assured him, as Jaden started walking to the villa with Syrus still cradled in his arms. “Now come on, let’s go.”As the sky turned a dark shade of purple, Syrus snuggled himself into the brunette’s chest and felt the warm feeling as Syrus felt safe and sound in Jaden Yuki’s arms. This was the best day at the beach ever! THE END
